Texture Assignment

Image
For this assignment I found things that had texture on them and used the side of my pencil to translate that texture to this piece of paper.

Color Wheel Scavenger Hunt

Image
Here is a picture of a cup and then food items I had in my dorm. I set them up in a circle to represent the colors on the color wheel. I thought it was a fun activity.

Pattern Class Activity

Here I have created different patterns and I labeled each pattern with the following in each square.

Here I created an ink swatch of one drop of ink in water all the way up to 7 drops.

Wave Idea For Project 1

https://www.vectorstock.com/royalty-free-vectors/waves-lines-vectors The link I have attached above helped demonstrate different ways to create waves by using certain types of lines. I thought this was super cool and opened my mind to different ways to create the waves for the ocean in my project.

Final Project 1

Image
The antonyms I chose for this project were Summer and Winter. For winter I created mountains with snow on them as well as a moon and snow falling from the sky. For my summer picture, I chose to do a wave with water spraying off of it after a wave crashes, and added a bird and a sun to make it more of an ocean scene. By using the grayscale paper I was able to use glue and scissors in order to place my final images on the white bristol paper.

Positive and Negative Space For Project 1

EDIT   COMMENTS https://thevirtualinstructor.com/positive-and-negative-space.html Above is a link to a website I used while making my project. It helped me focus on how to lay out my work using positive and negative space affectively.

Sketch Ideas For Project 1

Image
I drew a bird to potentially featured in my summer paper, and a snowman to be featured in my winter paper. I did not end up using the snowman, but I did use the bird. I chose to do an outline of a different type of bird using my black paper. I really like how it turned out.

Asymmetrical/ Symmetrical Assignment

Image
EDIT   COMMENTS I created this drawing in order to focus on the positive and negative spaces between these shapes. There is no meaning behind this image, but I wanted to incorporate flowers and overlapping shapes in order to create a unique and busy frame.

Laser Cutting Workshop

Image
The laser cutting workshop I attended was super cool. I learned how to run a job on the laser equipment and got the opportunity to laser cut my name. I look forward to attending another workshop soon!
